From repeating the same patterns to experiencing love differently.

They came to us successful, self-aware, and ready for something to finally change — not just in who they dated, but in how love felt.

These are stories of what happened when they stopped forcing, second-guessing, avoiding, overworking, or settling… and began creating relationships with more ease, clarity, trust, and connection.

Abby
Abby · VA

How a self-described “one date wonder” changed the way she dated — and met an incredible man.

“What if I’m successful everywhere except love?”

She had stopped trying. Six months later, she was in a relationship she was excited about.

Abby was accomplished in her career, but dating felt like the one area she couldn’t seem to figure out.

She had become a self-described “one date wonder” — rarely getting past the first date — and eventually became so discouraged that she stopped actively dating.

What she wanted wasn’t just someone.

She wanted an impressive, well-rounded man she could respect, grow with, and learn from.

Through her Breakthrough Session with Mayan and continued coaching with Mayan and Angus, something began to change before she ever met him.

The social anxiety that had made putting herself out there feel difficult shifted so dramatically that Abby described the difference as:

“Night and day transformational.”

And she began approaching dating differently, too.

As a successful professional, Abby was used to being the one who took charge and made things happen.

In dating, she discovered she could let go of having to manage everything.

“I don’t have to do everything… he’s got it and I can trust that he’s got it.”

Then Abby set a clear intention:

“In six months, I wanna be in a relationship.”

Six months later:

“Not only was I in a relationship, I was in a pretty darn good one.”

And she hadn’t simply met someone.

She describes him as “incredibly impressive and well-rounded and thoughtful and caring.”

“I wanna invest in him and he wants to invest in me. And that’s what we’re doing.”

In her own words.

“I’ve already done years of work on myself.”

She knew her patterns. She had the tools. And there was still something she couldn’t see.

Vanessa wasn’t new to personal growth — years of therapy, leadership work, books, podcasts and coaching. She was self-aware. She knew how to coach herself through most things.

But as the kind of love she actually wanted became possible, something surfaced that she hadn’t been able to see on her own. She heard herself say: “I wanna be in love, and I’m terrified of it.”

Insight and information are not the same thing as transformation. She didn’t need to understand more. Through her Breakthrough Session and coaching with Mayan and Angus, she began releasing what understanding alone had never changed.

“I’m done cutting off my sides, my angles, to try to fit somewhere where I don’t belong.”
Tiffany

Why the internal shift made such a difference — even after she had already invested in other coaching.

“What if this doesn’t work either?”

She’d already invested more somewhere else. And she was still repeating the same patterns.

Tiffany wasn’t new to coaching.

She was already working with another coach in a program that had cost her more than working with us — and she valued what she was learning.

But something still wasn’t clicking.

She was struggling with self-doubt, trusting herself, and feeling like she had to force herself to do everything.

Her biggest fear before doing this work?

“Nothing has ever worked to the degree that I wanted it to.”

Through her Breakthrough Session and continued coaching with Mayan and Angus, Tiffany began uncovering what was underneath those patterns — including a deep fear of being seen and heard.

And as that shifted, the changes started showing up in very tangible ways.

She became more comfortable being seen. She started showing up differently in dating, networking, and her business. She signed her first client.

And after her weight-loss progress had stalled, she went on to lose 25 pounds during the four months we worked together.

But what Tiffany noticed most was how different it all felt.

“The ease… I wanted to feel the ease. I wanted to trust myself.”
25 pounds lost First client signed More comfortable being seen More self-trust More ease

“Now I feel like it’s actually possible. I get to go have fun again.”

Why doing the work before she felt ready changed what happened when love arrived.

“I wasn’t ready to date. But I knew I wanted different next time.”

“But I’m not ready to date yet.”

She wasn’t. But she knew she wanted different next time.

When Mindy found us, she was coming out of a painful marriage, separation, and divorce.

She describes that season as “a pretty dark place.” Dating wasn’t even on her radar.

But she knew one thing: she wanted different next time.

So instead of waiting until she felt ready to date, Mindy did the work first.

Through her Breakthrough Session and continued coaching with Mayan and Angus, she learned more about herself, got clearer on her values, and began letting go of patterns she didn’t want to carry into her next relationship.

In her words:

“I’m so grateful for your programs that allowed me to grow and prepared my heart to let someone in when that time came again.”

And when someone eventually did come along, Mindy says she felt equipped.

When her old instinct to avoid or run showed up, she learned to stay, communicate differently, and let the relationship unfold instead of shutting it down.

Her partner even told her:

“I make him want to be a better man. I make him strive to be a better man.”

“Now I get to experience a beautiful love that I really never knew was possible.”

From expecting betrayal → to seeing the support in front of her

She wasn’t meeting the wrong men. She was listening for the moment they’d let her down.

DeAnna already knew where to meet accomplished men. She was going to the right places. She was attracting them. The problem was never access.

What she couldn’t see was how closely she was watching for evidence that each man would eventually disappoint or hurt her. A missed appointment. A word. An energy shift. Anything could become proof.

Underneath it sat an older belief: “Men will destroy good women.”

After her Breakthrough Session and coaching with Mayan and Angus, what she noticed began to change. Kindness. Support. Chivalry. Men wanting to help — showing up in ways she hadn’t allowed herself to expect before.

“I was listening for him to fail.”

Sometimes the shift isn’t finding a different world. It’s finally being able to see the one in front of you.

From questioning her choices → to trusting herself

She didn’t need better luck with men. She needed to trust herself.

Before working with Mayan, Lauren didn’t trust herself to make good relationship choices. She wanted love and a family, but after a history of choices she regretted, part of her wondered if it was safer not to risk getting it wrong again.

Through her Breakthrough Session with Mayan, something deeper shifted: Lauren began to trust that she mattered — and that she would be okay.

That changed how she dated. She could walk away when something wasn’t right without second-guessing herself, say yes when there was a genuine fit, and show up more honestly instead of trying to guarantee the outcome.

And Lauren understood relationships better than most. She’s a licensed marriage and family therapist. But even with that professional knowledge, she recognized that there were things she simply couldn’t see from inside her own experience.

Knowing relationships and seeing your own blind spots aren’t always the same thing.

“I matter and I’m gonna be okay, so I can come to the table as honestly as I know how to be with you.”

Within weeks of her Breakthrough Session, a playful pickup line turned into a first date with Brandon.

Years later, they’re married.

But for Lauren, the result isn’t simply that she found someone. It’s the relationship — and the life — they’ve built together.

From bracing for him to leave → to staying when it mattered

The old fear still showed up. What she did with it was completely different.

Claire’s earlier experiences with men had taught her to expect the same ending — they disappear, they ghost, they run.

Then she met someone, and the relationship became serious. When his responsiveness changed, the old fear fired exactly as it always had. Her impulse was to shut things down before she could get hurt.

This time she paused. She reached out to Mayan and Angus for support. She looked at what was actually happening instead of treating the old fear as fact.

She chose differently — and the relationship continued and grew. As it kept deepening, the two of them even got matching tattoos.

From reactivity to more connection.

Jaina wanted to feel more connected in her marriage, but struggled to express what she felt and needed in a way that felt loving, confident and true to herself.

Through her Breakthrough Session and coaching with Mayan, she released some of the emotional patterns underneath her reactions and began communicating differently.

She became more able to pause and respond instead of react, felt more open and loving with her husband, and experienced a different quality of connection in their marriage.

“There’s much more peace and playfulness now because of how I am able to show up in my relationship.”

How she went from being afraid to put herself out there to dating with clarity, confidence, and discernment.

From afraid to turn on her dating profile → to her friends calling her a “guy magnet”

Four months getting ready. And she still couldn’t make the profile visible.

Mel hadn’t dated in around six years. She wanted to meet someone, and she had spent months preparing herself to begin online dating. Roughly four months in, she still couldn’t bring herself to let anyone see her profile.

“I wasn’t in touch with myself and I wasn’t in touch with what I wanted and I needed help.”

What she needed wasn’t tactics. She wanted clarity — about herself, about what she actually wanted, and about how to recognize who fit her life. She describes her Breakthrough Session with Mayan as “huge.” Afterwards, naming her personal values and her relationship values became far easier, and those values became a real-world filter.

Instead of only asking whether a man liked her, she could ask better questions. Do his actions match his words? Are our values actually aligned? Does this person fit the life I’m creating? When she liked someone and saw that his actions didn’t match what he had presented, she recognized it and ended things rather than overriding what she knew.

Then she started dating — and it became fun. “Really fun.” She met people, learned about them, and grew more discerning about who was and wasn’t a fit.

Something else started happening, too. When she went out with girlfriends, men approached her. They asked her to dance. They offered to buy her a drink. One evening, a man waited for the one she was talking with to leave so that he could introduce himself.

Her friends started calling her a guy magnet. When we asked her what she thought had changed, her answer wasn’t about tactics at all.

“It’s the energy. It’s the energy that I show up with.”

Nothing about how she dated was a technique. What changed was who she was being while she did it.

Naomi and Ben
Naomi & Ben Naomi · New Hampshire
Watch Naomi’s story

She stopped hoping someone good existed, and started choosing between good men.

From giving up on love → to believing her family was still possible

She had made a beautiful Plan B. But it wasn’t the life she really wanted.

When Angus first met Naomi, she hadn’t dated in years.

She talked about becoming the amazing aunt — pouring her love, time, travel, and resources into her niece and nephew and creating an incredible life with them.

But underneath that plan was a desire she had stopped letting herself fully feel:

She wanted to be a mom.

She wanted a partner.

She wanted a family of her own.

She had simply stopped believing that kind of love was going to happen for her.

Through working with Mayan and Angus, Naomi began opening back up to the possibility of love. She learned to trust men again, receive more, and approach dating from a completely different place.

Then dating actually started happening.

She went from years without dates to having two or three dates in a weekend — and enjoying them.

She began meeting high-quality men she genuinely liked. Men who celebrated her success rather than feeling threatened by it.

And instead of wondering whether there was anyone out there who could meet her, Naomi came to believe:

“There’s a bunch of needles out here. I just need to find mine.”

And eventually, she did.

Today, Naomi is in a relationship with Ben.

Thomas Thomas · California

They had already divorced.

“It took a breakthrough session and a divorce to fall in love again.”

Thomas came to us after almost a year of watching his relationship spiral. Eventually, it ended in divorce.

He knew one thing clearly: if he ever entered another relationship, he did not want to repeat the same patterns. One of those patterns was freezing and withdrawing during conflict — he could feel himself contract, and he struggled to speak or stay present.

So he did the deeper work. Not to win his former partner back, but because he didn’t want to carry the same version of himself into whatever came next.

Then something neither of them expected happened. As their final divorce paperwork was coming through, they began talking again.

“She was saying things that I had been wanting to hear for years. She was showing up in a totally different way and I was too.”

They decided to try again. Thomas describes what they created as “an amazing, total reset of the relationship.”

Every relationship is different. This is Thomas’s experience, not a promise of reconciliation.

More proof. More possibilities.

Katie

“I’ve already tried other things. Why would this be different?”

Katie had already worked with dating coaches and matchmakers and was hesitant to invest again without knowing whether anything would really change.

After her Breakthrough Session and continued coaching with Mayan and Angus, she described feeling lighter, more joyful, and more like herself.

Then something unexpected happened.

About a week later, she matched with a man who lived two hours away.

Instead of the distance stopping him, he made it clear he wanted to pursue her.

And they started dating.

“It was so helpful to get all of that out in one day and have results at the end of the day. I felt lighter, more joyful, and just more myself.”

Laurel

“What if I know I don’t want this relationship, but I’m afraid to hurt him?”

When Laurel began working with Mayan and Angus, she was in a relationship she didn’t want to be in.

She didn’t want to hurt him.

And because she was so focused on his feelings, she couldn’t get clear on her own.

She wasn’t even completely sure whether she should leave.

Through working with Mayan and Angus, she gained clarity about what she actually wanted and was able to end the relationship.

She also began seeing patterns she hadn’t recognized before — including negative self-talk that was influencing what she was attracting.

And her life started coming back into balance.

She was sleeping. Eating well. Exercising every day.

“I was able to gain clarity on that with her help and we successfully broke up.”

She stopped making someone else’s disappointment more important than her own truth.

Carmyn

“I’ve made choices I regret. What if I can’t get past them?”

Carmyn was carrying guilt and shame from her past — emotions that were affecting how she saw herself and what she believed was possible for her.

Her Breakthrough Session with Mayan helped her release what she’d been carrying and get clearer about what she actually wanted in a partner.

“I have completely let go of the guilt and the shame that I was carrying up until that point.”

Derek C.

“What if I keep ignoring what I know because I want the relationship to work?”

Derek had a pattern of settling and staying in relationships longer than he knew was right for him.

Instead of trusting the red flags he saw, he would overthink them and keep trying to make the relationship work.

Through working with Mayan, he became clearer about his values and more confident in using them to decide who was actually right for him — and who wasn’t.

“I’m in the confident area now where I recognize that if our values don’t line up, I’m not going to pursue a relationship with that person.”

Joe

“What if I lose myself when I’m in a relationship?”

Joe had experienced the pattern of falling in love and eventually realizing the relationship wasn’t truly aligned.

Part of his shift was recognizing that loving someone else didn’t mean abandoning what he needed from partnership.

“My needs, desires, and wants all matter — and I get to attract a relationship with someone who has that same vision.”

Heather

From pouring into men → to being poured into

Heather was used to attracting men who needed her support, encouragement, and energy — without receiving the same investment in return.

After her Relationship Breakthrough work with Mayan, dating began to look very different.

“I’m actually having the engagement that I’ve always desired with men who are mutually interested in me. Men who are pouring into me and not just the other way around.”
Heather

When the inner pattern shifts, life often moves with it.

The changes don’t always stay in one part of life. For some of our clients, what shifted internally began showing up in their health, work, money, family, confidence, and the way they moved through the world.

Nancy S.

“What if I’ve done years of therapy and still feel weighed down?”

Nancy had worked with multiple therapists and coaches and was still carrying angst and shame from her past.

Her process required more time and patience than usual, but she began noticing something very different:

When difficult emotions or situations appeared, she no longer automatically spiraled into angst, despair, or self-blame.

She also began communicating very differently with her daughter.

Instead of immediately feeling wounded, cringing, blaming herself, or going into victim mode, she became able to listen and allow her daughter to have her own voice.

That shift continued beyond the original work.

Nancy and her daughter reconciled and became very close. Today, she also has a close relationship with her grandchildren.

As the emotional weight began lifting, Nancy also found herself making healthier food choices, enjoying exercise, and feeling hopeful again.

“I am so very happy to have HOPE again and to feel lighter, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.”
Nancy · New York
Lorena

“What if the life I want feels decades away?”

Through working with Mayan, Lorena says she manifested her dream job, began making and having more money than ever, and experienced more peace, joy, gratitude, and hope.

She also became clearer about the difference between ambition and alignment — and more willing to choose what she actually wanted.

Then a dream she thought might take decades suddenly became real.

“My dream of moving to Hawaii, that I thought would take 40 years, only took 4 months of action to bring into reality. I just had to choose.”

Brie

“What if I wake up every day dreading the life I built?”

For two years, Brie was unhappy and stressed in her accounting job.

Every morning she woke up thinking: “I hate my job.”

She felt frozen. She complained about it, slept to escape it, and still couldn’t get herself to make a change.

Through working with Mayan, the biggest shift was not simply changing what was happening around her.

She stopped feeling like a victim of it.

She began taking risks, volunteering for things she previously would have been afraid to do, becoming more creative and focused, and seeing possibilities she couldn’t see before.

“I no longer feel like a victim.”

She went from dreading Monday morning to describing herself as happy, active, confident, purposeful, and grateful for her life.

Grant

“What if I’ve felt stuck for so long that I think this is just who I am?”

Grant described himself as stuck, unmotivated, trapped, numb, and apathetic.

He struggled to finish things he started — even a workout program or a book.

After working with Mayan, he completed a 30-day workout program and kept going for six months.

He reported losing 12 pounds of fat and gaining 3 pounds of muscle.

He also moved through fears that had kept him from putting on his own events and went on to host two events attended by more than 50 people.

“I have excitement when I wake up in the morning. I have a vision. I have goals and I complete them and see them through.”

Dalia

“What if I understand my patterns and still can’t seem to change them?”

Dalia had spent years working on herself.

She was highly self-aware. She even knew that much of what was happening was the work of her own mind.

But she still felt anxious, stuck, suffocated, and unable to create the momentum she wanted.

She wanted to stop hiding.

After her NLP Breakthrough Session with Mayan, she described waking up feeling lighter and clearer, letting go of what others thought of her, and becoming more focused on creating the life she wanted.

Then tangible things began moving, too.

“Since our session, I have lost weight, gained new clients, and new opportunities fell into my lap.”

“I finally feel like I have ME back.”

Ellie

“What if I’m still holding on to a relationship I know I need to release?”

Ellie realized she was holding on to a past relationship that was disempowering her.

Through working with Mayan, she became more aware of relationship patterns she hadn’t been able to see before and began closing doors that no longer served her.

The result was greater trust in herself and what she actually wanted.

“Now with more awareness in this area, I am choosing to trust my gut and follow my heart.”

Erika Erika · Arizona

From proving her worth → to trusting herself

The situation still activated something. The woman responding to it was different.

Before working with Mayan, Erika might have chased. Gone along with what he wanted. Waited for the phone to ring. Let her boundaries go because she wanted the relationship.

Later, when a man from her past came back into her life, she noticed how differently she responded. She stayed calmer. She paid attention to what was actually happening. She kept her boundaries.

And when she saw the relationship wasn’t aligned, she was able to let it go.

“I always knew I was the prize… but I never believed it about myself.”

“I don’t need to prove myself to anybody anymore.”

Maybe your story hasn’t happened yet.

But chances are, something on this page already feels familiar.

“I’m successful everywhere except love.”
“I’ve already done so much work on myself.”
“I don’t trust myself to choose differently.”
“I keep expecting men to disappoint me.”
“I’m tired of carrying the relationship.”
“I’m afraid it’s too late.”
“I want love — and part of me is terrified of getting it.”
“My relationship is good… but I know it could be so much better.”
“I’m not ready to date yet — but I know I want different next time.”

Whatever brought you here, awareness alone may not be the piece that’s missing.

The shift happens when the old pattern stops deciding how you choose, communicate, receive, and respond — and something different becomes available instead.

That’s when knowing what you want starts becoming the way you actually live and love.

Your story can change, too.

What would become possible if the old pattern stopped deciding what happens next?

You don’t have to know exactly what needs to change before you begin.

Sometimes the first step is simply seeing what you haven’t been able to see on your own.
